Required Trainings

ALL volunteers need to complete the AYSO Safe Haven Training. 

The AYSOU/etrainu courses are broken up into sections, and the site will save your progress.  So get started whenever you can.  You can access courses on your phone as well. You can see what you've completed under My Account > Volunteer.

COACHES need to complete these trainings on AYSOU/eTrainu (logging into AYSOU eTrainu):

• Training Library > Safe Haven (View Courses) > AYSO's Safe Haven - Online (Enroll)
  
• Training Library > Safe Haven (View Courses) > CDC Concussion Awareness - Online (Enroll)
  
• Training Library > Refereeing (View Courses) > AYSO's Summary of the Laws of the Game - Online (Enroll); those with a referee certification have already fulfilled this requirement
  
• Training Library > Coaching (View Courses) > Age division training
  • 5U should complete 6U Coach Online
    
  • 10U and above have online pre-courses with a follow-up in-person course or fully in-person courses.  Info on signing up for in-person courses.
• SafeSport Training (see details below)

In addition, please review the Evanston AYSO rules.  They differ from the general AYSO rules in a few areas, including team size.

  • 8U and younger: 8U online course
  • 10U and older: Regional RefereeTraining (has online + in-person and fully in-person options).  Info on signing up for in-person courses.
  • 14U and older: Intermediate Referee - need to be a Regional Referee first.  Info on signing up for in-person courses.

SAFE SPORT: COACHES, TEAM PARENTS, and REFEREES are also required to take the Safe Sport training, which is part of a national program and in a different system (note that this is different from AYSO Safe Haven training).  This does transfer if you've taken it for another organization.  Youth volunteers are not required to take this training.   

• Safe Sport is not an AYSO system, so you need to create a separate login, but use the same email as you do for evanstonsoccer.org
