U5, U6, and U8 Goal Procedures

5U, 6U, and 8U teams are issued goals and corner flags to use for the season.  This is a change from previous seasons.  Goals and flags DO NOT need to be picked up weekly from the shed in James Park anymore.

DO NOT STICK ANYTHING INTO THE CROWN TURF.  This applies to both stakes for the goals and corner flags.  There are special corner flags and sandbags in an orange "Rigid" box marked with AYSO near the tennis courts.

5U and 6U Teams

Each team gets:
2 small portable goals
4 corner flags

Weekly:
Bring them each week.
Set up and take down your own goals and flags. x1 goal/field, x2 flags/field.
If your team forgets the goals, set up cones.  Your team shoots at the cone end.

Safety:
Pull the goals completely open to their full width.
Secure the goals to the ground with metal stakes.
If the goal, net, or bag is broken, report it to get a replacement: [email protected]

Maintenance:
If the goals get wet, set them outside of the bags to dry out during the week.  Otherwise they will stink and mold.
If the goal is difficult to pull open, try WD-40.

Goals and flags must be returned at the end of the season in June.

8U Teams

Each team gets:
1 portable goal
2 (or more) corner flags (they fit in the goal bag)

Weekly:
Bring them each week.
Set up and take down your own goal and flags.
If your team forgets your goal, set up cones.  Your team shoots at the cone end.

Safety:
Pull the goals completely open to their full width.
Secure the goals to the ground with metal stakes or sandbags.
If you’re playing at Crown, do not use stakes or corner flags in the turf; there are sandbags and special corner flags available in the orange box marked AYSO near the tennis courts.
If the goal, net, or bag is broken, report it to get a replacement: [email protected]

Maintenance:
If the goals get wet, set them outside of the bags to dry out during the week.  Otherwise they will stink and mold.
